AFC Totton 1-3 Winchester City
A very good win against a hard working Totton team, who slightly edged the first half. City had Stuart Green and Craig Feeney back in a full strength line up with only Danny King missing. Play was even with the Totton winger Mike Gosney causing problems with his pace, but the excellent Robbie Matthews was in commanding form at the back. City scored first when a brilliant run down the right, from Craig Fenney, having his hard shot parried by the keeper and Stuart Green was on hand to smash home 0-1. Totton put pressure on the City goal and Nathaniel Sherborne got the equalizer when he shot home following two corners 1-1. Play remained end to end in a good entertaining game H.T. 1-1. City were getting the upper hand at the start of the second half and took the lead when man of the match Stuart Green burst through on the left and shot across the keeper into the far corner and the ball hit the far post and went in 1-2. City wrapped up the points when the Totton keeper came out to collide with Joe Briggs and fumbled the ball, with Joe getting up and rounding the stranded keeper and smashing the ball into the empty net 1-3. A good fighting performance from City that the Manager will be happy with.
