Long but a good day!! Firstly we went to Baffins and whilst unhappy with the first half we have to credit them for an all action effort and a good free kick saw us behind, we had a fair few opportunities but didn’t score or really play well enough... second half a different story and we penned them in for most of it, eventually scoring through Josh Mccormick, they really battled hard and organised well and we weren’t clinical enough and credit to Shaun Wilkinson and his lads for their defensive efforts in that second half. A really good test for us to unpick a tight defensive line. 1-1 and more good minutes for lads.

We then took a trip up the a3 and took a very young side plus a few needing minutes, Reece Rusher being one who played his first minutes of pre season, to play Clanfield from the Hants prem.

Such a young side experiencing the rough and tumble and the atrocious wind conditions was great for them, they played some good stuff and dominated most of the first half with the wind, 0-0 at break though. 2nd half we went ahead early with a neat finish from youngster Jean-Luc and looked comfortable but a second booking and sending off for Drew Smith put us down to 10 men, still very comfortable only for Reece to talk himself into a sinbin (from a very odd red display it has to be said) and so we were down to 9 and they got a goal to level it up 1-1, a very commendable display from the young boys!

A really good day and plenty of minutes and opportunities to see the lads show what they can do.

Next up we travel to Hartley Wintney on Tuesday night, a tough test against the league above opponents.
