Bristol Manor Farm 3-3 Winchester City
A really entertaining game and in the main a tremendous performance away against our bogey side who we haven’t picked anything up from in the 4 previous games between the clubs, not only that we had to do it without Emmo away, Kinger work and Balmer injured and not quite fit to play a part. We also had to come back from 1-0 and 3-1 down, to keep going and nick a point from that but really we did more than enough to win the game, it’s a solid start and I am content with that, especially as our fitness levels were a lot higher than theirs as well which is also pleasing!
We started the game ok but went behind early to the excellent Bamford, we pulled level with Simba scoring with a typically non stop effort goal chasing lost causes, we were on top at this point but again Bamford scored and we came in 2-1 down.
Second half we dominated for very long spells of it, we made a couple of changes and slight shape adjustments and they had a player sent off for 2 bookings, almost immediately though we gave away a dubious free kick and scored to go 3-1 up and they celebrated hard as if it was game dead! We didn’t give up though and a brilliant worked goal was finished superbly by Rob Carr and we then got level when Baz battled to get the ball back and played in Sim who nicked it past the keeper and scored. Try as we might we couldn’t quite get the winner we probably deserved as they didn’t have any other shots to test prycey with other than the goals, however all things into consideration it’s a decent point against a side with resources we could only dream of!
We now have to regroup and get ready for a home game against local rivals Totton and as always that will be a very tough match for us, it is one we look forward to though!
Good point on the road, thanks for the support as always and roll on the next game and a busy week or so of action.
Up the citizens!
