Bristol Manor Farm 4-1 Winchester City
Despite the result today, I am very proud of my players today! We were without so many players, Simba - ill, Rob Carr - work, Jenks - work, Brice - suspended, Gilbert injured, Cook - injured, all of which would have started probably today. We brought 3 lads in from reserves Harvey Clark, Kieran Winmam, Josh McCormick, playing against a very physical and powerful side, we just didn’t quite have enough physicality today, we gave it everything but just came up short.
Game started with us on the front foot and got ahead with a great run and finish by Willo after a good pass from Oli Bailey. Rest of the half was a fairly end to end contest however they scored an equaliser when the striker got in a bit too easy down their inside right, then a sucker punch a header from a set piece just before half time!
Second half we started well and got on top but no run of the ball for us cost us as we couldn’t quite get that equaliser. Then they got a third with a cross being bundled in and then killed us off with another set piece goal and it was game dead.
We were carrying injuries during the game to Tomasso, Barron, King, Hayward, we were able to take Ads and Kinger off but the other 2 had to stay on and battle through! It really is a tough time for us at the minute with injuries but we will keep going, try and patch everyone up and get ready for another massive week ahead!
Big thanks to the supporters who came in their numbers, I am sure you saw the effort from the boys, we are all disappointed but I know we can bounce back, starting with a tricky game at Bishops Cleeve away on Tuesday!
Up the citizens!
