Kidlington 1-1 Winchester City

on Wed 31 Jan

I have to say that is a very good point on the road, tricky conditions against a good side who seem to have been a bit of a bogey side to us, traffic issues meaning we had a lot of late arrivals, 1-0 down and kept going to get a point in the last minute!! Far from the perfect night but very proud of the efforts and a decent result!

We had no Jamie Barron still missing, Andy Jenkinson unavailable due to work, we had to push Kinger in earlier than we would have liked following over a month out. Game started and we were very bright and penned them in but didn’t create a lot, they took a lead with a rebounded pen after Prycey had made a very good save! That was the score at half time.

2nd half was tough slightly against the wind, we battled hard without ever really getting our game going, in the end sheer endeavour got us a deserved equaliser as 10 shots (7 on target, to their 4 shots showed how well
We kept going), we got our goal from Coxy stabbing into the top corner for 1-1 in the last minute.

Great point in the end, we kept going and I’m proud of them for that. Unfortunately Josh Harfield picked up a very bad cut injury to his leg after a horrible challenge and will need some hospital treatment for it, we wish him well and need him back as he has been massive for us especially in these last 2 games.

We now recover and get ourselves ready for another big game on Saturday!

Well done the lads! Up the citizens!
