Mangotsfield 1 Winchester 2
After losing their last Southern League match 10 days ago Winchester returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win at Mangotsfield, Mangotsfiield are in their 20th season as a Southern League club and have previously played in the Premier Division, but have finished 16th in both of the last two campaigns. They however have made a good start to the current campaign and despite tonight' s loss still, occupy a playoff place.
Winchester made three changes to the starting line-up from their last league match at Evesham with player manager Craig Davis making his first start of the season and Joie Hayward and Oli Bailey also starting and they replaced Ollie Griggs, Liam Gilbert and Dom Panesar- Dower with the last named being on the bench,
In the first half Craig Davis had a free kick tipped round the post and Jamie Barron also came close, but Winchester took the lead right at the end of the half when Simba Mlambo set up Ollie Balmer to score and it was 2-0 when Dan Williamson scored 6 minutes into the second half following a goalmouth scramble. Three minutes later Thomas Hillman pulls a goal back for the team with a deflected shot from just outside the area and that was the end of the scoring.
Winchester bought on Kieran Douglas, Dom Paneasr-Dower and I K Hill as substitutes and towards the end Williamsoin forced a save from the home goalkeeper, but it represented a good three points for Winchester,
