Met Police 4-1 Winchester City
Winchester City travelled to Met Police for their final pre-season friendly in West London, writes Matt Richbell. Although the scoreline suggested a one-sided fixture, it was anything but as it became a tale of missed chances.
The Met went ahead early on Max Blackmore drilled a low effort past Ryan Pryce in the City goal. The hosts then had several opportunities to double their advantage but found Pryce in impressive form. Blackmore did eventually double his and his sides' tally when he finished past the onrushing keeper. Substitute Kai Hamilton scored a third goal after the break. Olly Balmer scored a well-executed free-kick to reduce the deficit but de Saint Croix made it 4-1 late in the game. Despite missing several key players, City performed well, with Balmer in particular causing havoc amongst the hosts' defence.
City host Western League Division One side, Corsham Town, this coming Saturday in the Preliminary Round of the Emirates FA Cup. There are various protocols and procedures that the club must adhere to during these unprecedented times and details of the clubs' Covid-19 guidelines and risk assessments are available on social media and the clubs official website.
