Wimborne Town 2:2 Winchester City

on Tue 30 Aug

Wimborne Town FC 2:2 Winchester City FC

A much improved performance from Saturday, twice fighting back to earn a great draw in front of nearly 300 people.

City went behind early and where as in previous matches they capitulated, this time they rolled up their sleeves and fought for every ball.

Stu Green scored a peach of a goal and city attacked from that point,

Half time 1-1

Second half Wimborne came out and made changes and caused the city back four problems, a lovely move (although definitely offside) saw the Magpies go ahead with a shot through Lewis's legs.

City again made changes and pressed forward and a wonderful strike by Howard Neighbour levelled the scores. Both sides pressed and had chances, City had the more clear cut chances but the Wimborne keeper earned his man of the match award with some outstanding saves.

Both sides had a goal disallowed during the match and a draw was earned by City.

A lot of positives to take forward to Saturday.
