Winchester City 1-2 North Leigh
A very entertaining game of football with both sides playing good passing football, but City missed a host of chances ,but to be fair the North Leigh goalkeeper was in top form and must be a contender for man of the match pulling off a string of great saves.
North Leigh started at 100 mph with their two fast and direct wingers putting City under pressure and scored a soft goal when a looping header evaded everyone to plop into the net 0-1.
City were also creating chances with Craig Feeney and Stuart Green having good shots saved, and the equalizer came when Stuart Green had a lovely turn and cross that Taz Roberts lashed high into the roof of the net 1-1.
City continued to press and could have gone in at half time three goals to the good, notably when Stuart Green burst through but his shot hit a post, rebounded off his leg and rolled just past the post. H.T. 1-1.
The second half started with North Leigh carrying on the same as they did at the start of the first half but City held firm and started to get back into the game with a rasping shot from Danny Smith being well held by the keeper, the excellent Craig Feeney and Stuart Green were still causing problems with their interplay, but as North Leigh applied constant pressure the winning goal came when Aaron Woodley finished left footed into the net.
With added time beckoning Craig Feeney went through one on one with the keeper, but hit his shot just wide. F.T.1-2.
A game that City could have won but for the North Leigh goalkeeper who was in inspired form.
