Winchester City 4-2 Salisbury F.C.
A stunning win this evening at the Denplan Ground.
Salisbury started as if they would overrun us playing fast attacking football and soon took the lead with Tommy Wright scoring.
City settled down and were soon matching their opponents with Lewis Noice making some very good saves, one in particular tipping the ball onto the bar.
City got the equalizer when Jamie Barron curled in a free kick that hit the far post and went into the net 1-1.
City were getting on top now and soon scored again when Joe Briggs scored from close range, 2-1.
City were making all the running now and scored a third when Howard Neighbour slotted in 3-1.
City were cruising now and finished the first half well on top H.T.3-1.
Second half saw Salisbury start like they did the first half creating lots of chances and pushing City back and it wasn't long before Justin Bennett scored to make it 3-2.
It was now becoming a tight game with City responding with their own attacking play and were creating more chances but it still remained 3-2 until Ross Bottomley replaced Jamie Barron and after being on the pitch for about five minutes sent a ball out to Joe Briggs who put a great cross in and Ross covering a lot of ground got into the area and fired into the net 4-2.
A great win with the whole team outstanding but Lewis Noice just edged my man of the match keeping City in the game with some super saves.
