What a fantastic result and performance that was, I was so pleased with the lads the way that they controlled the game from the very start, came out with real fire early on, took a grip of the game and then won it very well, against what believe me are a very good side who had a great defensive record as well before today! Well done boys!

We had a bit of bad news in the morning with Rob Carr unwell and unable to play, so we gave IK Hill a start and brought Liam Gilbert back in from Tuesdays starting lineup. We started on the front foot against a very strong wind to be fair, we penned them back and quickly went ahead with a flowing move Joe Hayward volleyed at goal, keeper saved but Oli nodded the rebound in. We went further ahead when their keeper came out and headed a ball over the top and IK volleyed in superbly! Then it was 3 with another move own the right and Joe Hayward crossed and Baz finished well inside the box. 3-0 at the break.

Second half we pushed on further and were very ruthless, scoring very early on with Gilly driving forward and hitting the post, the rebound was tucked away by Oli again. Fairly quickly we got a 5th with a brilliant through ball from Baz allowed Oli to run on goal and round the keeper to complete his hattrick 5-0!! At that point we took the opportunity to rest Baz, Oli and Josh and bring on Rawks, Ty and Williams. We continued to control the game and could have had a few more, we also had a great save from the otherwise very quiet Ryan Pryce. Very good game management at the end to run out 5-0 winners, as I said even more impressive as they are a decent side who had a great defensive record.

Really proud of the lads, they were hurt after Tuesday and I organised a get together for the lads as a surprise at training, this had the desired effect as they all enjoyed it and were refreshed today, was good to get a few supporters there for it as well! We have a brilliant group of players and they are a pleasure to manage, I just hope they can keep pushing on and get what they deserve at the end of the season! Today they were absolutely brilliant, well done lads!

Next up we have the extremely tough game against Totton, we know that will be difficult but we go into it full of confidence, whatever happens I know our boys will give their all and let’s hope that will be enough for us.

Well done again boys!

Up the citizens!
